Michael Kammerer, Principal of Eastwood Public School
Our school leaders
Our school leaders, including our principal, guide teachers and students. They help create a school culture where every child is supported to grow and thrive.
Michael Kammerer, Principal
As Principal, my role is to lead a school where every student is known, valued, and cared for — a place where learning is purposeful, opportunities are plentiful, and community is at the heart of everything we do. I work alongside our talented staff to ensure high-quality teaching, a safe and supportive environment, and programs that allow each child to thrive academically, socially, and personally.
At Eastwood Public School, I am privileged to lead a vibrant and dynamic community that takes pride in its achievements and looks forward with confidence. We are a school where excellence is matched by care, where curiosity is encouraged, and where students are given the skills and values they need to succeed in life. Whether it’s celebrating strong academic results, seeing students shine in sport, the arts, and leadership, or opening new facilities like our modern Year 5–6 building and state-of-the-art fixed playground equipment, I am constantly reminded of the dedication, talent, and spirit that make Eastwood such a special place.
Mrs Sarah Balestriere, Deputy Principal
Deputy Principals are key to a school’s success — supporting staff, guiding learning, and ensuring every student feels safe, valued, and inspired.
At Eastwood Public School, our Deputy Principals work closely with teachers, students, and families to create a welcoming, high-achieving environment where learning and wellbeing go hand in hand. Their leadership is particularly important in supporting Yars 3–6, where students are consolidating core skills, developing independence, and preparing for the transition to high school. From overseeing curriculum and assessment to encouraging participation in sport, creative arts, and leadership opportunities, our Deputy Principals help every student in these crucial years thrive both academically and personally.
Mrs Leonie Marshman, Deputy Principal
Deputy Principals are key to a school’s success — supporting staff, guiding learning, and ensuring every student feels safe, valued, and inspired.
At Eastwood Public School, one of our Deputy Principals leads and supports Kindergarten to Year 2, helping our youngest learners develop strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social skills. They are also our first point of contact for welcoming new families to Eastwood, ensuring a smooth and friendly transition into our school community. Whether it’s introducing parents to our programs, supporting students as they settle in, or guiding teachers in delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning, this Deputy Principal plays a vital role in making sure every child’s Eastwood journey begins with confidence and care.
