NAPLAN
NAPLAN is an annual national assessment for students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9 that measures essential literacy and numeracy skills.
It offers useful insights for our teachers and parents by highlighting areas of strength and opportunities for further growth, helping us to support our students along their learning journey.
While NAPLAN is a helpful tool in understanding student progress, it is only one aspect of a comprehensive assessment process that includes ongoing evaluations and personalised feedback from our dedicated educators.
We continue to strive to create an environment where every child can succeed, and your continued involvement is greatly appreciated.
Together, we are committed to ensuring that every student receives the guidance and encouragement they need to reach their full potential and build a strong foundation for the future.
Harmony Day
Harmony Day is a special event celebrated annually in Australia, dedicated to promoting cultural diversity, inclusiveness, and respect among people from different backgrounds. For students at school, Harmony Day provides an opportunity to learn about the wide variety of cultures represented within their own classrooms and community. Through engaging activities, such as sharing cultural stories, music, dance, traditional foods, and wearing the symbolic colour orange, students gain deeper insights into the richness of diversity, fostering empathy, acceptance, and a stronger sense of belonging.
Celebrating Harmony Day at school helps students build essential social skills, encouraging them to appreciate differences, develop friendships across cultural divides, and understand the value of inclusive communities. By actively participating in Harmony Day, students not only gain awareness and respect for diverse cultures but also build the foundation for a harmonious and collaborative learning environment. This celebration reinforces the message that everyone, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, has a meaningful place within the school community, ultimately promoting positive relationships and a supportive school culture.
COVID Information
Thank you to our wonderful Eastwood Public School community for your careful vigilance and fast response in monitoring for COVID symptoms and testing.
We ask that you continue to regularly test your child/children using the Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) and monitor for any cold/flu-like symptoms in order to help our school classrooms run smoothly for all students.
Thank you again for all your efforts!
